My first back to back jamboree while having injured leg!

The day before the jamboree, I went to Bike Corner Mahkota Cheras to repair my bike due to gear shifting problem. Thank God he had the spare and my bike was fixed in no time. Due to heavy rain again the night before, I use wet lube again for the chain so that it can shift smoothly in wet muddy condition. Less slip this time, went down as early as 5.30am as usual I had my McDonald's Breakfast Wrap and some coffee for caffeine boost.

Reached the place quite late due to location hard to find. After parking my car, I headed straight to the caged area, flag off was at 8.30am. I didn't have my warm up time at all, so my startup was sluggish and not so front this time.

After a few spin, I managed to catch up with the fast riders. Heading to Kemensah Trail was a long ride.It is a very hard core trail, with a lot of high climbing and deadly downhill. The rain the night before made the trail extra muddy and slippery too. A lot of riders fell down while going downhill fast. I heard some riders had their eyes poked by bamboo shoots in the jungle. After 12km deadly trail, we meet up onroad again, that's when I had to chase the pro riders. I managed to finish the race with a position of Men's Open 28 Overall 64.

Rapidino Cyberjaya Jamboree 2015 Full Loop

Racing on two events back to back is really not something I do, with less rest and used up bike on the first ride. Thanks To God I able to finished both race with good result and no injuries..can't wait for my legs to heal back so that I can cycle again.. This is my first Jamboree riding with injured leg, just injured last Tues. The trail is superb, long single trail, about 5km single trail. I need to go through newly discovered forest, and it was really slippery with lotsa pushing. Thank God I was wearing flat pedal which I can disengage from my bike easily, while clipless pedal rider will have a tougher time getting off suddenly when the road is jammed.

I was actually signed up as a jamboree rider but last minute it was changed to race as it was more challenging. First time racing and it was a high chase in front of the pack.

A crash happen before we hit the offroad and I was at the side of the famous avanti rider Mohd Danny, well, a fast rider but bonk happen to everyone, or maybe he slow down too much until rider at the back hit him

And bitten by 5 bees during a downhill section is a scary thing too..I can see the bee stinging my arm..scary as I try to bite them back..

Well I always train for climbing and when energy run low, my legs just want to give up on high hills climb. I shall improve on this mental thing and after a long climb up the pylon, downhill was the reward for all riders. But for me, I wouldn't take risk to go down too fast..Control is the key and I managed to clear some dangerous water runway along the descending.

My new bike is still giving some problems as the chain became dry after a long ride and dirt on it started jamming the drive train..three times the chain gave a loud sound, like cracking "krack"..I have to stop to wind back the chain and have to be gentle to it as I pedal. The flat part after a lots of climb was very intense as riders at the back were trying to overtake. Must do something about this.

After finishing and waiting for the result we ate a bit and took photos with other riders, then I go and ask the sensor guy for the result kindly, he gave and I was glad to know that I got 29th in the Men open category. Other riders tried to ask him but he turned them away asking them to check online after a day or two. Good for me as I can go back proud of my placing for the race. :P

Janda Baik Waterfall Ride 2

My last Jamboree was at Janda Baik for the 2nd time. Stayed overnight there so I can wake up fresh for the ride.

As usual, Janda Baik is one of the tough rides, with lots of hills and lots of water falls to go through. Totally pancit at the end of the ride, but was a good challenge and I finally had a pic with pro rider Anuar Manan as above too.

Cycling Malaysia Coming out

Each month, I will be excited on few things. 1. Salary? well I work on my own as a computer Technician/ Business owner. 2. Cycling Malaysia Magazine! Everytime I go to a bookstore, I will be hunting for this Magazine for the latest issue. Normally, I will visit Mynews.com outlets at Aeon Mahkota Cheras or Tesco Kajang. The best way to find out when it is out is by following Cycling Malaysia on Facebook  as they will post hints and previews about when the mag will be out. Most of the time, my rider friends will tag me and post it on my wall.

Why do I read this mag? Not so much for products but I am just excited to find myself in the mag! (Vain) Cycling Malaysia will write about all the latest race and jamborees and their photographers are always at these events taking our pics, so it will great joy if I find faces I recognise or even better, myself inside their reports haha.

Secondly, I also read it to catch up on latest bike gears and how to build up a bike with various components. Lastly, Cycling Malaysia also lists all the upcoming races and jamborees all over Malaysia so I can plan and decide which one to join. Best of all, the magazine has digital versions for iPads that one can subscribe and read at the same time contributing to lesser carbon footprint by buying the actual copies. I might actually just try that out myself.
